Colonization with H. pylori (Helicobacter pylori) is associated with increased risk of patients developing gastritis, peptic ulcer disease, and gastric adenocarcinoma. Testing is recommended only if you have symptoms such as an ulcer, mid-upper abdominal pain, unexplained weight loss, and nausea or vomiting. H. pylori IgA may be detected for years in infected patients. This organism can also be detected in stool. For that you will need the stool test.
