PRO TIME (PT) WITH INR 0008847

The Prothrombin Time and INR or PT/INR is used to test for abnormalities of coagulation factors and bleeding disorders. It can also monitor how well the blood-thinning medication (anticoagulant) warfarin (COUMADIN®) is working to prevent blood clots. Your doctor may order this test when they suspect advance liver disease such that would affect bleeding, when they suspect a bleeding disorder due to something else, or when you are taking warfarin and need to monitor your INR.
